Having completed an MA in Arts Administration, I trained with Getty Images as a Keyworder. I applied these skills to customer facing roles within Getty, working as Search Vocabulary Editor and later, Picture Researcher. Moving into the cultural heritage sector, I spent 3 years with V&A Images, working on a variety of projects including advising V&A Images’ Web Content & Image Database Manager on keywording methodology.
Following maternity leave, I set-up as a freelance keyword consultant in 2008. I develop bespoke controlled vocabularies and keyword still and motion imagery on a regular basis. My specialist areas include Travel, Wildlife, Environment, History and the Arts.

As a wordsmith at Getty images, I worked for five years on search systems; structuring taxonomy and partnering data migration to support hierarchical search. I then moved to smaller company Digital Vision, preparing their data for sale.
After 10 months travelling with my camera, I returned to the UK and have been consulting as an independent keyworder since. My specialist areas include Fine Art, Interiors, Gardens, Society and Culture.
